Bassetlaw District Council needed to modernise and improve a large, widely dispersed housing stock of close to 7,000 properties across urban and rural areas, while meeting the needs of affordable housing and older residents. Working with United Living Group and its United Living Property Services division, the council also needed a partner capable of delivering planned and reactive housing maintenance in occupied homes with minimal disruption.

United Living Group delivered a turnkey refurbishment programme covering kitchens, bathrooms, windows, doors, roof replacements, external works, boiler replacements, external wall insulation, electrical upgrades and fire risk assessment works. The programme was delivered on time and to budget despite restricted working hours, while also creating local apprenticeships, work experience and local supply chain opportunities; since 2005, over 8,000 homes across 40 rural villages and Worksop have benefited, helping renew communities and improve quality of life for residents.
