Case Study: Clarion Housing achieves energy-efficient homes and Net Zero progress with United Living Group

Achieving Net Zero by 2050 is undoubtfully one of the greatest ambitions set by the UK Government in the drive to tackle climate change

United Living Group worked with Clarion Housing, the UK’s largest housing association, to improve the energy efficiency of 80 occupied homes in Tonbridge, Kent. Clarion needed to cut carbon emissions, tackle fuel poverty, and improve residents’ health and wellbeing as part of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund programme.

United Living Group delivered a fabric-first retrofit package including a passive airtight wrap, high-performance triple glazed windows and doors, loft insulation, roof improvements, and heat and energy solutions, all to PAS2035 standards. The project was expected to reduce the overall cost of works by up to 30% over the 12-month programme, while lowering heating bills, reducing damp and mould risk, improving air quality, and cutting Clarion Housing Group’s ongoing maintenance costs.
