A Unit4 Financial Planning & Analysis Case Study
Selkirk College, a regional post-secondary in British Columbia serving about 2,700 full‑time students and 9,000+ community learners, faced aging homegrown finance, HR and student record systems that were increasingly costly to maintain and inadequate for modern student‑success needs such as degree tracking and early alerts. With rising budgetary and technology pressures, the college needed a modern, flexible solution to improve student outcomes and support future business models.
Selkirk partnered with Vancouver Island University on a joint RFP and selected Unit4 Enterprise Resource Planning Cloud and Unit4 Student Management for its student‑centric design, early‑alert functionality, portals, CRM and cloud/mobile capabilities. The collaborative approach cut implementation effort by about 5,700 hours and generated combined savings of $1.1 million (roughly $660,000 for Selkirk), while delivering tools to transform the student experience and streamline institutional operations.
