Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which provides mental and community health services across Berkshire (~4,500 staff), needed a fast, non‑disruptive move from its legacy NGD cloud to a modern platform to improve security, scalability, efficiency and usability of its long‑running Unit4 ERP finance systems. The trust’s challenge was to migrate quickly while maintaining uninterrupted finance and procurement operations, especially during the pressures of the Covid‑19 response.

Working with Unit4 and partner Integra, the trust migrated and upgraded its Unit4 ERP to Microsoft Azure in four months, deploying Unit4 Financial Management, Procurement and Budget modules to deliver unified, automated finance processes. The cloud solution sped up PPE procurement during the pandemic, cut routine manual work (saving around two hours a day on punch‑out orders), improved reporting and user experience, and with planned AI‑led invoice scanning is expected to save almost 70 hours of manual processing annually.
