ITER, the world’s largest experimental fusion facility, needed to prevent unauthorized access across its 180-hectare research site while supporting work toward a safe, limitless, and environmentally responsible energy source. Unisys was brought in to help address this complex security challenge across a highly sensitive scientific environment.

Unisys led a consortium that designed and supported an integrated security solution covering perimeter and surveillance security, identity and access management, command and control systems, circulation control and monitoring, communication security, forensics, and human factors integration. As a result, ITER achieved a completely secure environment, and Unisys also completed a thorough analysis of stakeholder interactions to create an appropriate physical security design.
