Case Study: EPM strengthens critical infrastructure security with Unisys

EPM, a utility provider serving homeowners and businesses across Colombia, Panamá, Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Chile, needed to protect critical energy, gas, and water services from cyber threats across its IT and SCADA/ICS environments. Unisys supported EPM with security information and event management (SIEM), machine learning-based advanced analytics, and security consulting to strengthen its security posture and create a roadmap and trust organization.

Unisys implemented a security operations solution that processes and correlates about 100 million events per day in its SOC, detecting around 200 threats daily and helping resolve roughly 90% of them. The result was improved threat detection, the ability to identify known versus unknown risks, stop potential attacks before they occurred, detect data exfiltration and botnet/malware communications, and uncover sensitive employee identity data on the social and dark web.
