Case Study: Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport improves passenger experience with Unisys

A Unisys Case Study

Preview of the Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Case Study

Improving passenger experience at a fast growing Asia-Pacific airport

Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport worked with Unisys to support a new greenfield airport built for rapidly growing passenger demand in Asia. The airport needed real-time flight information, reliable baggage service, and a smooth transition from the old airport with minimal disruption, while maintaining strong operational performance.

Unisys deployed a central integrated information management system to coordinate planning, manage daily operations, and centralize accounting and reporting, with 24x7 operations and 99.5% availability through automatic failover, resilient networking, and resilient disk configurations. The solution helped Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport handle more than 50 million passengers and 1.1 million tons of freight annually, improve on-time departures with faster flight updates and proactive alerts, and reduce operating expenses by integrating building management with flight information to lower power use during off-peak hours.
