Ensuring efficient administration of justice for Italian citizens, companies and lawyers

Della Giustizia Amministrativa, Italy’s administrative justice system, needed a way to efficiently handle the work of the Council of State and 29 Regional Administrative Courts, supporting 500+ judges, 70,000 cases per year, and 180,000 judgments per year. To meet this challenge, the organization worked with Unisys and its Application Services to build a web-based Administrative Justice Portal (S.I.G.A.) with secure, role-based access and digital case management capabilities.

Unisys implemented a solution that included content management for digital documents, automated case workflow, a virtual case file from filing to final judgment, and tools to help judges draft rulings. The result was greater efficiency in administrative trials, reducing time and costs while improving transparency and access to information and legal documents for citizens, companies, and lawyers.
