Silvercar, a mobile-first rental company offering a streamlined experience and a fleet of premium silver Audi A4s, faced difficulty scaling paid-search efforts—manually mining search queries, calculating bids, and optimizing long-tail keywords left them slow to react in a volatile auction environment. To meet aggressive booking goals, Silvercar partnered with Unique Influence, a cross-channel digital marketing consultancy, which implemented Marin Software’s keyword management and bidding tools to support their paid-search expansion.
Unique Influence used Marin Software to automate keyword expansion, surface converting (and non-converting) queries for negative matching, and apply a patented bidding algorithm to set optimal bids for both high- and low-data keywords. In a month-long Dallas/Fort Worth promotion (Dec 2013–Jan 2014) the campaign drove a 10x increase in bookings, a 9% lower cost per acquisition, and a 97% increase in impressions—results Unique Influence helped Silvercar sustain as they expanded the program.
