The Fishin’ Company, the world’s largest importer of tilapia and one of the largest frozen fish importers, needed to improve the accuracy of its internal sales predictions to reduce rising inventory and carrying costs. It turned to Unioncrate and its AI-powered Demand Planning / Integrated Business Planning platform to strengthen demand planning across its supply chain.

Unioncrate implemented consumption-driven demand forecasting using internal sales data plus external variables like POS data, helping automate 90% of the demand planning process. The result was 82% monthly SKU-level forecast accuracy in 2019, an improvement of 7.64% versus Fishin’ Company’s internal projections, and an estimated yearly savings of more than $1M in inventory carrying costs from reduced inventory levels.
