Hershey needed to modernize its global digital workplace to improve collaboration, mobility and productivity after a fragmented set of collaboration platforms left communication siloed and inconsistent. The company engaged Unily and its Unily platform (including Unily Social) to deliver a single, user-centric intranet—branded as The Conche—that would unify content, social feeds and tools across devices and languages.
Unily built The Conche on SharePoint Online and Office 365 with Azure hosting, delivering personalized, multilingual and mobile access, integrated social collaboration and simplified IT maintenance. The solution enabled two new collaboration sites and an audit workflow that trims 1,250 hours annually, boosted eLearning uptake for 300+ marketers, gave 21,000 employees access in their mother tongue, and saved a Barry Callebaut team working with Hershey about 70 hours per week. Unily’s platform also freed IT from heavy maintenance and increased real-time coauthoring and knowledge sharing across the company.
