Shell powers employee experience with a Unily intranet

Shell, a global energy company with an 82k-strong workforce across 70+ countries, engaged Unily to replace a static, fragmented legacy intranet that produced information overload (about 20,000 pages, many unused) and lacked collaboration. Unily delivered The Hub — a single-pane digital workplace with targeted content, AI-powered multilingual translation, News Central, Tools & Resources, People Finder, Ethica chatbot, Yammer and Microsoft 365 integrations, and single sign‑on — to personalize communications and streamline access to tools. The Hub drove a 66% productivity increase, saved a median 82 seconds per task (around 3.5k hours saved per day and $41.6m annually), attracted ~113k unique monthly visitors (2.5 logins/day), and generated 840k article views, 2.3k comments and 1.4k reactions in six months, demonstrating Unily’s measurable impact.
