Mayer Electric Supply, a Birmingham, AL–based electrical distributor, had launched its first e-commerce site on Unilog’s original CIMM platform in 2012 but eventually outgrew the legacy software as custom enhancements and modern features became difficult to implement. Unilog recommended and proposed an upgrade to its cloud-based CIMM2 platform to provide a more scalable, flexible foundation with improved content management, search and responsive design.
Unilog implemented the CIMM2 upgrade plus a full site redesign—adding a job management “will call” option, upgraded punchout RFQs, a Quick Links dropdown, streamlined navigation, responsive design and a mobile app—while assigning a dedicated CSM and using Salesforce to keep the project on track. The six-month rollout made the site easier to use, reduced customer service calls by enabling self-service access to invoices, PODs, spec sheets and contracted pricing, improved product findability across a 40,000-item catalog, and helped drive a 36% increase in site users and more buyer account sign-ups.
