Live TV Streaming and Digital Signage creates unique technology experience on board Spirit of Tasmania

Spirit of Tasmania, operated by TT-Line, sought to modernize passenger communications and entertainment during its eleven-hour ferry crossings. With an outdated system reliant on printed materials and limited options, the company needed a cost-effective, reliable, and easy-to-manage solution to enhance the onboard experience. They turned to vendor Uniguest (Tripleplay) for a digital media platform to address these challenges.

Uniguest implemented its Media Portal for live TV streaming and its TripleSign software for digital signage. The solution provided eight live TV channels accessible via any mobile browser over WiFi, eliminating the need for apps. The digital signage, including digital menu boards, modernized the ships' ambiance and streamlined service information. The results included increased passenger satisfaction, reduced queues at bars, and the ability to serve all passengers, up to 1400 during peak times, from a single, reliable system.
