How Mobile Apps Improve Student Engagement & Communication

Seward County Community College, a two-year institution serving a diverse student body across southwest Kansas, needed an independent mobile app with its own branding that could integrate with Ellucian Banner and Canvas, support campus communication, and allow flexible real-time updates. The college chose Unifyed Mobile Digital Campus, along with Unifyed Mobile and Unifyed Studio, to meet these mobile engagement needs.

Unifyed implemented a custom-branded mobile app with out-of-the-box integration to Banner, Canvas, SSO-enabled enterprise apps, and push notifications, giving SCCC administrators self-service control to add, remove, and modify app features without coding. The result was a well-adopted mobile solution that centralized key student and staff tools such as Directory, News, Athletics, and Events, improved access to information, and helped the college save significant development effort while strengthening student engagement.
