Uniface Helps Largest Agricultural Cooperative in Latin America Stay Ahead in a Dynamic Economy

Coamo, founded in 1970, is the largest agricultural cooperative in Latin America, supporting more than 25,000 farmers through around 115 service centers and handling a multi‑billion‑real turnover. Its IT team needed to move off a slow, mainframe-based toolset to a more open, easy-to-learn environment that would let them develop, maintain and secure a large variety of business‑critical applications quickly and consistently to respond to changing market and regulatory demands.

Coamo chose Uniface (with partner Elosoft) for its model‑driven, repository-based development, reuse and platform independence. As a result, a 102‑person IT team now maintains 243 Uniface applications (over 30,000 components), supports about 2,800 users (≈2,000 concurrent), ensures security and standardized high‑quality code, and can evolve systems rapidly—delivering greater scalability, flexibility and faster response to business opportunities.
