Northgate Public Services is a market-leading provider of specialist software, outsourcing and ICT to the public sector, working with 95% of UK local authorities, every regional police force and all NHS hospitals. Faced with the challenge of replacing multiple siloed police systems, Northgate needed a single, secure platform to share data across intelligence, crime investigation, custody and case‑file preparation, scale to tens of thousands of users, and support a cloud-first, collaborative service model.

Using Uniface, Northgate built a multi‑tenant private‑cloud platform and single source of data that integrates street‑to‑court applications, offers web access with identity/audit controls, and reuses existing Uniface logic for rapid development. The project replaced siloed applications, eliminated duplicate data entry, delivered stronger security and disaster recovery, enabled scalable access for thousands (up to ~100,000) users, delivered cost and efficiency savings through collaboration, and established a responsive long‑term partnership with Uniface.
