Case Study: CollegeNET achieves seamless Cloud, web and mobile delivery of Series25 with Uniface

A Uniface Case Study

Preview of the CollegeNET Case Study

Migrating a market-leading scheduling and space management solution for education institutions to the Cloud has been simple with Uniface

CollegeNET, a Portland-based software and IT services provider serving over 1,300 higher-education and non-profit institutions, needed to modernize its market-leading Series25 scheduling and space-management product to stay ahead of competitors and meet customers’ demands for easier integration, web-based self-service, mobile access and lower-cost hosted options. The challenge was to adopt cloud, web services and a browser/mobile front end while preserving existing business logic, reliability and customer choices for on-premise deployment.

By building Series25 in Uniface, CollegeNET was able to repurpose core logic as web services and move to a private Cloud SaaS model with minimal recoding. The result was a web-based version that coexists with the client/server system, a mobile app (25Live), faster two–three-month release cycles, reduced support overhead, robust security and 99.9% uptime SLAs — driving strong adoption (close to 800 organizations using Series25, ~150 on Cloud early on) and attracting new customers from competitors.
