A Uniface Case Study

Preview of the CollegeNET Case Study

Migrating a Market-Leading Scheduling And Space Management Solution For Education Institutions

CollegeNET, a Portland-based provider of software to higher-education institutions, developed Series25 to automate room scheduling and space management. To meet growing customer demand for hosted SaaS, easier integration, intuitive web-based self-service and mobile access — while remaining secure, reliable and competitive — CollegeNET needed to migrate its client/server product to the cloud and adopt web services without lengthy rework.

By building and migrating Series25 with Uniface, CollegeNET achieved a seamless move to a private cloud SaaS model, repackaged business logic as RESTful web services, and launched a browser-based UI and mobile app with minimal recoding. The result was faster release cycles, simpler integrations, reduced support overhead, a 99.9% SLA, and strong customer adoption—Series25 is now used by close to 800 organizations and tens of thousands of users, with many institutions switching from competitors.
