How SIMULATE Optimizes Experimental Processes in Alternative Meat Industry

SIMULATE, the plant-based food company behind NUGGS (sold in 12,000+ US retailers), faced fragmented R&D data spread across Google Drive and disparate spreadsheets that caused documentation delays, loss of context for experiments, and risk of information loss as the team scaled. To address this, SIMULATE’s Technology Lead Amir Farnoud selected Uncountable’s cloud-based R&D platform (SaaS) to centralize experiment documentation and standardize workflows across teams.

Uncountable implemented a configurable, web-based platform with team-specific workflows, pre-set extrusion parameters, and a “Related Experiments” feature that links final prototypes back to upstream ingredient and processing experiments, plus dedicated Scientific Implementation and Account Managers for onboarding. The result was centralized, searchable experimental data, faster and more consistent documentation, improved traceability and collaboration, and the ability to handle large datasets and generate visual analyses—streamlining SIMULATE’s product development and replication processes.
