Carbon, a 3D printing technology company founded in 2013 that develops printers, cloud design tools, and resins for applications from life sciences to consumer hardware, struggled with fragmented R&D data held in spreadsheets and separate lab notebooks—an issue made worse by remote work. As a result, Carbon sped up materials development and collaboration, eliminated repetitive manual calculations, and saved hours on each analysis—reducing tasks that once took a full day to being “basically immediate”—and accelerated the path from R&D to production.
