How Ripple Foods transformed their research efficiency, reduced redundant testing, and brought plant-based products to market faster

Ripple Foods, a leader in plant-based dairy alternatives, faced fragmented R&D workflows that relied on spreadsheets, ELNs, LIMS, and manual imports from statistical tools and external labs. These disjointed systems slowed decision-making, caused redundant experiments, and diverted scientists from formulation work. To address this, Ripple selected Uncountable’s Unified Laboratory Informatics Platform to centralize experiment tracking, data analysis, and collaboration.

Uncountable implemented a customized solution over four months—adding batch tracking, experiment management, automated data pipelines from partners like Siliker and Aemtek, visualization/ELN features, and predictive models. The platform cut time spent on data reconciliation by 30%, saved roughly a half-day of work per scientist per week, eliminated redundant tests, sped time-to-market, and improved decision-making; for example, a viscosity prediction model achieved RMSE 1.32 and r² 0.89. Uncountable also strengthened cross-functional collaboration and reduced costly errors across Ripple’s R&D organization.
