Canvas Factory, an e-commerce retailer of custom canvas prints, faced a common problem: many visitors left the site without purchasing, and the company wanted to drive more revenue from existing traffic without increasing ad spend. Their goal was to convert hesitant visitors with a modest incentive that would overcome purchase anxiety.
They launched a single exit-intent popup offering $10 off a first order in exchange for an email, shown once per visitor across select product pages and the blog. Targeting product pages paid off (11% conversion vs. 0.18% on the blog); the campaign opened up $1.1M in previously untapped revenue, grew coupon use by 6–9%, expanded the mailing list by 14.3%, and — with CS-Cart integration — enabled detailed tracking to optimize future campaigns.
