A Unbounce Case Study
Hotjar, a marketing-technology company, wanted to capture visitors abandoning their pricing page without harming user experience. Their challenge was to test whether a subtle, well-timed conversion tactic could turn interested prospects into leads and trials without annoying first-time visitors.
They implemented an exit-intent Unbounce popup on the pricing page offering an ebook in exchange for name and email, then sent non-customers the ebook plus a 30-day Hotjar Business trial. The campaign generated 408 leads in three weeks, a ~3% popup conversion rate, and 60–70 new users per month; 75% of leads were not existing customers and about 19% of those non-users who received the follow-up email became customers.
