A Unanet Case Study
International Center for Research on Women (ICRW) is a Washington, D.C.–based nonprofit founded in 1976 that uses research to advance gender‑focused policy and programs worldwide. Rapid growth exposed limits in their budgeting, time reporting, and resource allocation processes, which relied on fragmented Access and Excel files; leaders could not get timely answers to basic business questions and needed an easy-to-use, web‑based system that would give managers and staff clear visibility into project status and workloads.
ICRW implemented Microsoft Dynamics SL alongside Unanet Project Portfolio, rolling out timesheets first, then integrating accounting, payroll (ADP), and project budgeting with focused training. Automated data flows between systems and familiar Unanet reports delivered real‑time forecasts, utilization metrics, and resource planning; accuracy and approval times improved, books close faster, and administrative effort was reduced. The organization now has transparent, role‑based reporting and is planning further BI and earned‑value capabilities to support senior decision‑making.
