Southwest Power Pool - Customer Case Study

Southwest Power Pool, one of the largest power pools in the United States responsible for maintaining grids across 14 states, needed a modern, responsive website to support heavy information sharing, industry education and hundreds of annual events. The existing site couldn’t handle event coordination, registration, document distribution or fast access for staff and partners, so a new site was built on the Umbraco CMS (in partnership with certified partner Aristotle Inc.) to address those gaps.

Aristotle developed a custom event management system—registration, file management, homepage calendar/listing and a full admin backend—using Umbraco as the foundation and adding event, document and live-grid data modules. With Umbraco’s flexibility they optimized images and content to a 1,500 KB homepage and achieved a 2.6-second perceived load time at launch, improving operational efficiency for staff and earning SPP the “Best Energy Website” award.
