Niska, the Australian robotics retail company behind Niska Robotics Ice Cream Bar in Melbourne, needed a scalable POS, management, monitoring and reporting system to run its touchscreen kiosks and robot servers. Phosphor Essence built the solution using Umbraco CMS as the content and management platform to power the kiosks and back‑office workflows.

Using Umbraco, Phosphor Essence implemented a POS kiosk app tied to the robotics software via a REST API, integrated the Phosphor Kiosk Monitoring Tool and embedded Power BI reports for single‑sign‑on management; admins, kiosk owners and support staff can update flavours, prices and discounts, view real‑time monitoring and access sales reports. The Umbraco‑powered system is browser‑based and remotely accessible, helped Niska fill the Ice Cream Bar daily, and won the Umbraco Awards 2019 Jury’s Choice for its impact and usability.
