Creating a space for people to remember the loved ones they’ve lost

Marie Curie, the charity supporting people with terminal illness, needed a sensitive, inclusive digital space where those affected by bereavement could share memories and be signposted to support. Agency Yoyo developed the concept Memory Cloud and used Umbraco to build a simple, comforting platform that would resonate beyond the charity’s existing audience and open the door to Marie Curie’s services.

Yoyo delivered Memory Cloud on Umbraco following user research, stakeholder workshops and iterative testing, with a soft, daffodil-led design, animated petals and accessible user journeys; an AR experience also engaged staff ahead of launch. Built on Umbraco, the site created an evergreen, easy-to-use place to capture stories, raise awareness of Marie Curie’s support and improve engagement and accessibility for people coping with grief.
