An Umbraco Cloud solution with a clear visual identity

Metroselskabet, the Danish company that owns Copenhagen’s metro lines, needed a scalable, easy-to-update website to support the 2019 opening of two new lines and the resulting surge in passengers. Their legacy site was cumbersome for editors and had to both inform about construction and operating changes and encourage citizens to use the metro. Metroselskabet partnered with Novicell to build an ultra-scalable Umbraco Cloud solution that would deliver a clear visual identity and practical content management.

Novicell used an in-depth user analysis to simplify and restructure content, created editor-friendly templates and visually aligned animations, and built the site on Umbraco Cloud. The redesign cut nine out of ten pages from the old site, made it easier for editors to publish updates, and successfully redirected users to relevant traffic sources (an intentionally higher bounce rate during a planned migration phase). The Umbraco-built site also won the Umbraco Awards 2020 for Best Designed Site, demonstrating both strong design and measurable editorial improvements.
