U.S. Army Corps of Engineers restores 215 acres of Santa Ana River habitat with Ultrasystems Environmental

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers required extensive riparian and floodplain restoration to mitigate the environmental impacts of its Santa Ana River Mainstem Flood Control Project in California. Ultrasystems Environmental was selected to provide its riparian and floodplain restoration services to address this challenge.

Ultrasystems implemented a multi-year solution that involved the removal of non-native vegetation across 215 targeted acres and the restoration of the natural habitat. The results included the successful treatment of an estimated 356 total acres, which was achieved through meticulous planning, GPS mapping, and strict quality control measures to protect both personnel and special status species. Ultrasystems' efforts provided crucial compensation for the project's environmental impacts.
