SCE surveys 20-mile transmission line segment with Ultrasystems Environmental

The customer, Southern California Edison (SCE), required a biological resource survey for a segment of its Tehachapi Renewable Transmission Project to ensure environmental compliance. Ultrasystems Environmental was contracted to conduct this survey, evaluating the project area for sensitive species and habitats.

Ultrasystems performed a detailed biological survey, identifying vegetation communities and documenting all observed species and habitats. The solution involved mapping the presence of sensitive wildlife and identifying suitable habitat for numerous plant species, which dictated the need for subsequent focused surveys. Ultrasystems also identified numerous aquatic features requiring further jurisdictional review, providing SCE with the critical data needed to proceed with compliance under the Federal and State Endangered Species Acts.
