Judicial Council of California completes two courthouse studies with Ultrasystems Environmental

The Judicial Council of California required environmental and cultural resources compliance for two interior renovation projects at the historic Stanley Mosk Courthouse. Their challenge was to navigate the CEQA/NEPA process for the Reactivation and Realignment projects within a building eligible for historic registers. They engaged Ultrasystems Environmental for services including CEQA/NEPA compliance and cultural resources studies.

Ultrasystems Environmental implemented a solution by retaining a subconsultant to conduct detailed historic building studies for each project. These studies included records searches, historical research, field inspections, and effect analyses. The result was a comprehensive analysis that allowed the Judicial Council's projects to proceed in compliance with all state and federal historic preservation requirements.
