A Ultrasystems Environmental Case Study
Ultrasystems Environmental prepared a Geohazard Report for the Irvine Unified School District to assess geological and environmental hazards for a proposed new elementary school. The District required this assessment to gain approval and secure state funding for the construction of the Portola Springs Elementary School site from the California Department of Education.
The solution involved a comprehensive site assessment conducted according to state guidelines. Ultrasystems Environmental concluded that no active earthquake faults were present and that all other potential hazards, including liquefaction and flooding, were low to negligible. As a result, no mitigation measures were required, and the vendor confirmed the site would provide a safe environment for students, enabling the project to move forward.
