Brown and Caldwell identifies 53 hazardous sites with Ultrasystems Environmental

Ultrasystems Environmental provided services for Brown and Caldwell, who was working on a pipeline rehabilitation project for the Metropolitan Water District. Their challenge was to identify hazardous material issues that could affect the construction, feasibility, and cost of rehabilitating a major water pipeline in Orange County, California.

The solution implemented by Ultrasystems involved a comprehensive environmental review, which identified 53 sites with potential hazardous material releases near the pipeline. Based on this, they provided specific recommendations for environmental sampling along five pipeline reaches. This enabled the client to assess contamination, estimate impacted soil and water volumes, plan for worker safety, and evaluate the feasibility and cost of managing any hazardous materials encountered during excavation.
