AMLI Residential advances 334-unit Orange mixed-use project with Ultrasystems Environmental

AMLI Residential proposed a high-density residential infill development on a former parking lot site in Orange, California. Their challenge was navigating the environmental review process for this complex project. Ultrasystems Environmental was engaged to provide expert analysis and documentation on behalf of the city.

Ultrasystems peer-reviewed existing noise and traffic studies and completed comprehensive air quality and greenhouse gas emissions technical studies. Their key solution was preparing an Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) that tiered from the city's existing General Plan EIR, which streamlined the process. This allowed the focus to remain on project-specific impacts. As a result, Ultrasystems' IS/MND was certified by the city as adequate, and the project received full approval.
