Full Compass Systems, based in Madison, Wisconsin, distributes professional audio, visual, and lighting equipment to more than 300,000 customers across 100,000+ SKUs. As the company grew, its 25-year-old TeleManager information system—originally built to support telemarketing and later expanded to purchasing, warehouse operations, and accounting—started to limit double-digit growth and could no longer keep pace with changing business needs.
In early 2011, Full Compass Systems retained Ultra Consultants to guide its move from the legacy system to a modern multi-channel ERP platform. Ultra helped the team document more than 300 business processes, provided ERP education through “ERP University,” and created high-level future-state process maps and detailed process scripts to support vendor evaluation and implementation planning. The result was a clearer vision, better-defined requirements, and a stronger foundation for a smoother ERP transformation, though no quantified business impact was reported yet.
