K-12 Arts Curriculum Davis Art Gets ‘Ultrafied’ with a Brand New Web Presence

Davis Publications, a century-old K–12 arts publisher best known for SchoolArts magazine and a 35,000+ image Fine Arts Image library, needed to move its print content and disparate digital assets into a modern, subscription-based online experience. Facing challenges around consolidating content, rebranding their web presence, supporting portfolio and lesson-planning tools, and removing reliance on a single internal developer, Davis engaged Ultra Commerce and its Ultra Commerce platform to drive the transformation.

Ultra Commerce implemented a rebuilt Davis Digital site and custom UI components (portfolio builder and lesson planner) on the Ultra Commerce framework, migrated 35,000+ images with full metadata, and enabled a unified, subscription-based licensing model with single-pane login and online subscription/account management. The result: SchoolArts was digitized into a fully immersive web publication, Davis Digital now supports unlimited student/teacher licenses and streamlined CMS management, and Ultra Commerce delivered a scalable, modern platform that consolidated content and improved the customer experience.
