Australia Post LPO partnered with Ultra Commerce to launch China Direct, a cross-border eCommerce initiative for Chinese Daiguo and domestic customers. The challenge was to bring a complex omni-channel concept to market in under four months, combining physical stores, POS, and online commerce while handling inventory, shipping logic, compliance with China’s cross-border rules, and strict security and legacy system requirements.

Ultra Commerce implemented a multi-channel, multi-vendor marketplace using the Ultra Commerce Multi-Vendor Marketplace Platform, with POS integration, multi-store inventory, drop-shipping, and smart boxing logic to automate shipping combinations. The solution went live in under 4 months, enabled near-autonomous shopping in-store and online, reduced staff burden by hiding complex shipping rules, and gave Australia Post a fast-to-market test-and-learn foundation for future expansion.
