Royal Netherlands Air Force Speeding up maintenance with 3D printed tools

The Royal Netherlands Air Force maintains a complex fleet of aircraft that required specialized tools for maintenance, which were difficult and slow to procure. To address this challenge, they turned to UltiMaker's 3D printing technology to produce custom tools and parts affordably and efficiently.

By implementing UltiMaker 3D printers, the solution enabled the rapid in-house production of essential tools and protective parts, some in as little as two hours. This approach from UltiMaker resulted in significantly reduced production times and costs, increased team innovation, and greater flexibility. The success led to an expansion of their 3D printing capabilities with an Ultimaker S5 to produce larger parts.
