Qcells, a provider of clean energy solutions, faced the challenge of needing to independently substantiate the safety and governance of the AI-driven control component within its data center energy management system (EMS) for stakeholders. They partnered with UL Solutions to complete a third-party evaluation against the UL 3115 framework for AI-based product safety.

UL Solutions conducted a structured evaluation of the AI component, assessing its documentation, governance, and performance under stress. The solution successfully achieved UL 3115 certification, making it the first agentic AI EMS to do so. This provided Qcells with third-party evidence of responsible human oversight and audit-ready artifacts, supporting stakeholder confidence and market readiness for their AI-driven energy optimization platform.
