UL’s Healthy Buildings Services Evaluates Waters Corporation’s Building Ventilation Efforts

Waters Corporation, a manufacturer of laboratory instruments, chemistries and software, needed to quickly prove that its global facilities were safe for employees to return to work during the pandemic. To support its public health and business continuity goals, the company turned to UL Solutions for help assessing building ventilation and indoor air quality across a complex mix of laboratories, manufacturing sites and offices in multiple countries.

UL Solutions used its Healthy Buildings Services to inspect HVAC systems, measure air intake, compare results against ASHRAE 62.1, and complete indoor air quality testing at 16 facilities in eight countries. The project produced clear, site-specific reports and recommendations that Waters Corporation used to improve ventilation and support its return-to-work plans, helping the company report a near-zero rate of on-site COVID-19 transmissions despite more than 300,000 employee visits to essential facilities.
