Owens Corning, a leading global producer of building materials and glass-fiber reinforcements, wanted to improve supply chain transparency and manage social, environmental, and health and safety risks across its supplier base. To support its responsible sourcing goals and respond to issues such as human trafficking and conflict minerals, the company turned to UL Solutions for help assessing supplier practices and strengthening its sustainability program.

UL Solutions worked with Owens Corning to revise its Supplier Code of Conduct, create supplier self-assessment questionnaires, and develop risk indicators and segmentation to prioritize monitoring and engagement. The program helped Owens Corning streamline supply chain risk management, increase transparency, and build a more robust monitoring process, with yearly data collection enabling the company to track progress over time and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
