UL Helps Al-Rakeb Achieve Their Goals Through Remote Inspection Service

Al-Rakeb Company, a Kuwaiti manufacturer of medium and heavy steel products and systems, developed a mobile filling station for use in remote desert locations where fuel access is limited. The company needed third-party validation for its new product and turned to UL Solutions for help with certification-related review and hazardous locations expertise.

UL Solutions provided a safety-related engineering service instead of full certification, including a desk review and remote inspection of the mobile fuel station’s electrical equipment, wiring methods, and interconnections. Using relevant hazardous location standards and remote inspection guidelines, UL Solutions issued a letter report in July 2021 that was accepted by the Kuwait Fire Force, enabling the product to go to market in Kuwait and helping Al-Rakeb Company secure four orders from the Kuwait National Guard plus additional orders from major oil and gas companies in the GCC.
