A UL Solutions Case Study
Brandywine Realty Trust, a major U.S. real estate company, wanted to ensure the Cira Centre in Philadelphia provided healthy, high-quality indoor air for tenants and essential workers, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic heightened concern about indoor environmental quality. To strengthen confidence in its building performance, Brandywine turned to UL Solutions and its Verified Healthy Buildings for Indoor Air program.
UL Solutions assessed the Cira Centre’s indoor air practices, documented existing efforts, and provided recommendations for improvement through third-party verification. Brandywine increased filtration where possible, adjusted HVAC and outdoor air strategies, and earned the UL Verified Healthy Building Mark, which is now displayed on the building’s front door. The mark has helped reassure tenants and prospective tenants that the building is committed to healthy indoor air quality, with a positive response from occupants.
