A UL Solutions Case Study
Brandywine Realty Trust, a real estate investment trust with more than 24 million square feet in its portfolio, wanted to strengthen its ESG program and improve the accuracy and usefulness of its GRESB reporting. Although it had support for gathering data, the company felt disengaged from the process and needed better engagement from property managers, along with a more effective way to manage ESG information. UL Solutions was brought in to provide ESG and GRESB advisory support, training, and reporting tools.
UL Solutions implemented a three-step approach to gather data throughout the year, improve reporting to GRESB, and create a debrief and improvement plan for future cycles. The company also deployed UL Turbo Buildings ESG Software to replace a cumbersome spreadsheet process, provide near real-time granular data, support calculations and document storage, and connect directly to GRESB through an API. As a result, Brandywine improved its most recent report and GRESB rating, gained a reliable repository for ESG data, and reduced the time and resources required for reporting.
