Brixmor Embraces Green Building Certifications with Fitwel and LEED

Brixmor Property Group wanted to turn a vacant 45,000-square-foot space at its Plymouth Square property in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, into a workplace that prioritized employee health, wellness, and energy efficiency. To help navigate the complex process of pursuing both Fitwel and LEED certifications, Brixmor engaged UL Solutions for energy modeling, Fitwel advisory, LEED advisory, and indoor air quality testing.

UL Solutions worked with Brixmor throughout design and construction, using energy modeling to guide lighting and HVAC decisions, supporting certification submissions, and conducting on-site IAQ testing for PM10, PM2.5, ozone, carbon monoxide, and TVOCs. As a result, Brixmor earned LEED Silver Certification and a Fitwel One Star Rating, while also creating an energy-efficient, employee-friendly workspace that received overwhelmingly positive feedback from staff.
