A Udutu Case Study
MAPCO, a multi-billion-dollar Israeli-owned, US-based oil company with more than 500 convenience stores and retail fuel outlets acquired under several brands, needed a consistent hiring, orientation and training system to unify disparate corporate cultures, policies and practices. The initiative had to work in retail outlets with tight security, limited bandwidth in outlying areas and widely varying employee computer literacy, while covering general orientation, company policies and mandatory certifications (liquor, ephedrine, tobacco, food handling, sanitation, safety, robbery response, etc.).
Udutu delivered a custom iteration of its LMS on secured, customized laptops and mobile tablets, optimizing content for low bandwidth and simple user navigation to accommodate all skill levels. The solution standardized onboarding and mandatory certification across the retail network and—after initial retail deployment—was expanded into MAPCO’s refineries and head office, creating a consistent, company-wide training platform.
