A Ubuntu Case Study
PlusServer, a German hosting provider, was spending significant time manually maintaining its Ubuntu systems, including writing monthly shell scripts to keep internal and customer servers secure and up to date. To reduce routine work and improve control over updates, PlusServer turned to Ubuntu’s Landscape Dedicated Server from Canonical.
Ubuntu’s Landscape Dedicated Server automated routine maintenance through a central web-based interface, letting PlusServer manage updates more efficiently across more than 120 Ubuntu systems. The result was a dramatic reduction in management workload, faster deployment in just half a day, and improved security for internal systems and the 15% of customer servers running on Ubuntu.
