Case Study: Interana achieves secure, controlled Ubuntu upgrades with Canonical ESM

A Ubuntu Case Study

Preview of the Interana Case Study

Interana uses ESM to maintain system security while upgrading its customers to Ubuntu 18.04 LTS across public clouds

Interana, an analytics software provider serving customers like Microsoft, Comcast, and Salesforce, needed to upgrade its Ubuntu-based analytics platform from Ubuntu 14.04 LTS while keeping sensitive customer data secure across public cloud deployments. Because its software runs inside each customer’s environment, the company needed a controlled way to manage large-scale migrations without disrupting clients.

To solve this, Interana turned to Ubuntu and Canonical’s ESM service to maintain security during the transition to Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. The approach let Interana upgrade at its own pace with a staggered rollout, avoiding rushed migrations and major customer inconvenience while supporting the move to its new V4 release.
