Bancard streamlines PCI compliance with Canonical’s Landscape

NA Bancard is a US payments processor that provides fully managed card and electronic payment services to 135,000 customers and handles about $12 billion in transactions annually. With more than 100 Ubuntu servers supporting mission‑critical systems, the company faced growing operational strain from manual, per‑server administration and needed to meet strict Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance requirements for patching, change management, user access and asset tracking.

NA Bancard deployed Canonical’s Landscape (as a dedicated service via Ubuntu Advantage) to centralise and automate server management. Landscape enabled fast, consistent patching, automated compliance reporting, scripted user provisioning and asset discovery across the estate. The result was major time savings on routine administration, quicker and simpler PCI audits, improved resource visibility and availability, rapid ROI, and a deployment that was up and running within hours.
